Getting Your Fitness Goals Back on Track

Here are some tips that will have you fit fitness into your life

In today’s fast-paced world, who has time to exercise? Just about everyone that’s who!

All it takes is 10 extra minutes a day to get back on track with your fitness goals. Once exercise becomes a regular part of your day, it won’t be long before those extra 10 minutes become 20 and then 30 or 40 or more.

If you miss a day, get right back on track. The more you do it, the more you associate positive feelings with exercise. The hardest part is getting started. So what are you waiting for?

Some tips to fit in fitness:

  • Make your workouts a priority.
  • Set realistic goals and a schedule.
  • Get up a little earlier every day and take a brisk walk before breakfast.
  • Keep a set of three to five-pound dumbbells available, so you can pick them up when you are watching television or have downtime.
  • Have your family and friends join you.
  • Take a walk: A brisk 15-minute walk burns 100 calories.
  • Make it fun to make it last: When you find an activity you really enjoy, whether it’s swimming, dancing or hiking, you are more likely to stick with it.
  • Be sure to talk to your physician before you start any new exercise program.
