Pat Moore has been facilitating “Look Good… Feel Better” workshops at Doylestown Hospital for 15 years. This free program, a partnership of the American Cancer Society, the National Cosmetology Association and the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association Foundation, uses specially trained volunteer beauty professionals to teach women undergoing cancer treatment how to care for changes in skin and hair that may occur.
“Doylestown Hospital has always recognized the importance of treating the whole person, not just the disease,” says Pat. “That’s especially significant when you’re going through cancer treatment. The staff here understands how valuable it is to a woman who wants to take control of herself as an individual… to take charge of how she appears to herself and others … during this difficult time.
“I love what I do,” says Pat. “I love to see how the ‘Look Good … Feel Better’ program empowers women to meet this temporary but very personal challenge. The positive difference it makes for so many women is very gratifying.”
“Look Good … Feel Better” meets every other month at Doylestown Hospital. For more information, call 215-345-2261.
