Is It A Stroke?

Here are the symptoms of a stroke and how to be sure it is a stroke

Stroke symptoms strike suddenly and can include:

  • Difficulty talking or comprehending, general confusion
  • Vision changes in one or both eyes
  • Dizziness or problems balancing, walking or coordinating movements
  • Weakness or numbness of the limbs or face, particularly if they affect only one side of the body
  • Severe headache for no identifiable reason
  • If you suspect someone is having a stroke:

  • Ask for a smile. Does the smile look even?
  • Ask the person to repeat a short statement. Is the repetition correct? Is it clearly stated?
  • Ask the person to extend their arms. Is one arm higher?
  • If you feel there is indeed a problem, summon medical help immediately.
