8 Tips for Taming PMS

According to Dr. Yeh, some of the things a woman would benefit from at any time of the month are especially important when it comes to coping with PMS.

  • Make exercise a priority. Endorphins are the body’s natural “feel good” chemical.
  • Schedule wisely. Take care not to overbook yourself or your family.
  • Eat nutritious meals.
  • Get adequate sleep.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Get at least 1000 mg of calcium a day.
  • If you can, avoid stressful undertakings (for example, having out-of-town guests or going on a business trip) during the days you’re likely to be most vulnerable.
  • Pamper yourself. You’ll feel better for it!
