Stroke symptoms strike
suddenly and can include:
Difficulty talking or comprehending,
general confusion
Vision changes in one or both
eyes
Dizziness or problems balancing,
walking or coordinating
movements
Weakness or numbness of the
limbs or face, particularly if they
affect only one side of the body
Severe headache for no identifiable
reason
If you suspect someone
is having a stroke:
Ask for a smile. Does the smile
look even?
Ask the person to repeat a short
statement. Is the repetition correct?
Is it clearly stated?
Ask the person to extend their
arms. Is one arm higher?
If you feel there is indeed a
problem, summon medical
help immediately.
