Hypnotherapy: A New and Natural Fertility Treatment

Hunterdon Medical Center offers “Hypnotherapy for Fertility” to help couples become pregnant. Learn how hypnosis can improve your chances to conceive.

The best advice to couples attempting to conceive might just be to relax and let nature take its course. And for many couples, that’s enough. But for some, becoming pregnant is a challenge. That’s why Hunterdon Medical Center is now offering Hypnotherapy for Fertility.

Research has shown that the use of hypnosis can significantly increase a woman’s conception rate, as compared to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) or other medical techniques alone. Hypnosis is a naturally induced state of relaxed concentration in which suggestions are made to the subconscious mind. “Hypnosis naturally sets the body,” says Jean Jamele, RN, BSN, Director of Parenting Childbirth Education at Hunterdon Medical Center.

“It keeps the mind and body in the relaxed state,” continues Ms. Jamele. “This will not only assist in reducing stress, but will also be a tool to use during uncomfortable procedures.” The hypnotherapist uses a variety of techniques to guide the women or couples through a powerful, precise program that supports the entire fertility process (natural or medically assisted) for optimal results.

“Hypnotherapy can transform the fear and frustration couples feel and provide them with tools to achieve a calm, peaceful, positive and viable pregnancy,” says Ms. Jamele. Most importantly, it increases the couples’ odds of conceiving.

Sessions are about one to two hours long. Participants must commit to attend at least four sessions.
