Hunterdon Behavioral Health: Let Us Help You Get Your Life Back

Our Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is a 14-bed, voluntary facility that provides short-term, intensive treatment for those in need of psychiatric stabilization

At Hunterdon Behavioral Health, we’ve been dedicated to helping people recover from substance abuse problems, depression, anxiety, and many other mental health issues for 35 years.

The average stay is five days. We also offer medical inpatient detoxification for individuals addicted to alcohol or tranquilizers.

Our Acute Partial Hospital Program provides intensive outpatient treatment as an alternative to or “step–down” from inpatient hospitalization. It offers up to six hours of therapy each weekday; the average length of the program is two to three weeks.

“Our approach to treatment is multidisciplinary and developed to meet the specific needs of the client. The treatment team includes psychiatrists, psychiatric advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, recreation therapists, and licensed clinical social workers,” says Christine Cochrane, RNC, MAS, Director of Acute Behavioral Services and Addictions.

“No matter what the issue or the level of care that’s needed, we have the resources and experience to help,” says Gary Piscitelli, LSCW, ACSW, Director of Hunterdon Behavioral Health. “We assist clients by educating them about their conditions, providing motivational counseling and helping them gain life skills so that they can achieve a sustained recovery.”
