Don't Forget to Stretch!

Stretching is a key component of any exercise program. It helps keep your back strong, and it lengthens your muscle tissue. Stretching also increases balance and coordination. Additionally, it may reduce your risk of getting injured while exercising.

Here are some pointers for proper stretching:

  • Hold each stretch for a slow count of 20 or more.
  • Move into the stretch slowly. DON’T BOUNCE!
  • Do not stretch to the point of pain.
  • Take deep breaths. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
