Family is very important to Maria Georgsson, MD, and medicine is very important to her family. She is one of several physicians in her family, including her father who is a urologist. Dr. Georgsson and her husband are both originally from Iceland but love the “warmth” of Hunterdon County. She came to practice here after learning it was such a great place to raise children.

Dr. Georgsson is a board-certified gastroenterologist in private practice in Flemington, NJ. She received her medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, in New York. She completed her residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, and her fellowship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, NY.
