Strategies to vaccinate adults at high risk are critical to eliminating hepatitis B in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices updated its provisional recommendations to include vaccination of adults at increased risk for HBV. Public health programs and clinical care providers are encouraged to implement strategies to ensure that adults at high risk are offered the hepatitis B vaccine.
