Everything You Wanted to Know About Hepatitis B, But Were Afraid To Ask

A panel of hepatitis B experts, Drs. Tom London, Minh Nguyen, Ken Rothstein, and Eddie Cheung, agreed to answer any and all questions during this highly interactive discussion, moderated by Steve Bingham. Although the experts didn't always agree, their different opinions highlighted the confusion that many patients feel when they talk to their own doctor!

At the top of everyone's agenda was the question of pegylated interferon (PEG). In a nutshell, Yes, PEG can be used in children with HBV since it's been used safely and effective in children with HCV; and No, the doctors would not put an adult on PEG if they didn't respond to regular interferon, but rather, would probably look at the oral antiviral drugs instead.
