Charles Sigety Family Research Fellowship Established

On August 12, the HBF recognized Charles Sigety, a member of both the Delaware Valley College (DVC) and HBF boards, for his leadership, guidance, and support for the newly created Charles Sigety Family Research Fellowship. This fellowship was established by the HBF to help DVC students gain valuable scientific experience through the HBF and its Institute for Hepatitis and Viral Research. In particular, it allows students to be part of world-class research in state-of-the-art laboratories to address the enormous global health problem of hepatitis B.

Mr. Sigety and his wife Kit were invited to present a special certificate to Anne Marie Dougherty, a junior at Delaware Valley College, who was selected as the first recipient of the Charles Sigety Family Research Fellowship. She is enrolled as a biology major and is looking forward to pursuing her Ph.D. in virology and microbiology.

Considered by many to be a visionary, Mr. Sigety was trained as an attorney and holds degrees from Harvard, Yale and Columbia Universities. He and his family feel strongly about the importance of rigorous experienced-based education for undergraduate students in Bucks County, PA, where they reside.
