Building the Ranks of Future Scientists

HBF Launches High School Science Program

In recognition of the growing need to nurture and train the next generation of researchers, the Hepatitis B Foundation is recruiting talented high schools students to consider careers in scientific and public health research. This year we offered science awards to graduating high school seniors and piloted a summer enrichment program.

High School Science Program
A High School Science Enrichment Program was piloted by the HBF this summer in collaboration with the Central Bucks School District for talented students interested in gaining hands-on research experience and learning about biotechnology and public health in the context of hepatitis B and liver cancer. “My two-week experience gave me a more accurate view of how real labs function and how scientists do their work, and will be very useful for me in college and ultimately in my career choice,” said Matt Mudalel.
