HBF Bids Farewell to Executive Director Molli Conti

A national leader advocating for those affected by hepatitis B

For almost a decade, Molli Conti has been an integral part of the Hepatitis B Foundation. She has become a respected leader in the world of viral hepatitis and has been actively engaged at the local and national level to promote hepatitis B awareness.

“I’m proud to have been a part of such an impressive nonprofit research organization,” said Ms. Conti. “I have been privileged to participate in the Foundation’s enormous growth and I am excited about the future of the Hepatitis B Foundation. We are truly bringing hope to the 400 million people who live with chronic hepatitis B worldwide.” She is leaving the HBF to pursue a new opportunity in the pharmaceutical industry to help create and lead a national advocacy program dedicated to hepatitis B.

Although HBF wanted her to stay, “we are lucky to have had Molli at the Foundation for as long as we did because she was the right person to help lead us through one of the most significant growth periods in our history,” said HBF president Dr. Timothy Block. “We will miss her tremendously, but we all wish her great success in her new position to continue what she does so well – to advocate for hepatitis B as an urgent public health priority and to ensure all those who are affected not be forgotten.”

The HBF Board of Directors has appointed Ms. Joan Block, co-founder and senior advisor, to serve as interim executive director during this time of transition. She brings leadership experience, substantial knowledge of the programs, and a strong commitment to advancing the mission of the Foundation.
