Over the past 25 years tremendous progress has been made in combating hepatitis B. Universal infant vaccination has protected millions of chilldren from hepatitis B around the world. New drugs have been developed to slow the progress of the virus, and thus, reduce liver damage. Basic research is generating exciting new findings that bring us ever closer to a cure.
Today, one organization is regarded as a global leader in the fight against hepatitis B – the Hepatitis B Foundation.
Our mission remains vital: to find a cure and improve the quality of life of those affected by hepatitis B worldwide through research, outreach and advocacy. We are changing paradigms and making significant contributions through our comprehensive public health program and original discovery research. We have achieved great advocacy success with historic bi-partisan Congressional resolutions and legislation.
For the first time, the Hepatitis B Foundation can confidently set a new goal: To eradicate hepatitis B in our lifetime.
But we need your help! The Hepatitis B Foundation is at a critical turning point. In September 2006, we moved into our new research facility that will allow us to increase our research capabilities and expand our studies into hepatitis B and liver cancer, as well as hepatitis C. Our outreach programs are thriving and expanding at a rapid rate. This is an exciting time for us, and we’re hoping that you may be able to help us significantly advance our mission. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Timothy M. Block, Ph.D., Co-Founder and President
