In September 2006, the Hepatitis B Foundation began a new era of progress as it moved into the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center of Bucks County, a 62,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility that we created to expand our research capabilities. The Center is home to our offices and research institute, and will serve to accelerate the pace of research to find a cure, recruit and train young scientists, and expand the outreach program to those affected.
Funded in part by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, our new Biotechnology Center is unique because it brings together a complementary blend of mission-based nonprofit research organizations, academic partners and biotech start-up companies working beside each other on a common research theme – the problem of hepatitis B and C, and liver cancer.
