Looking for Convenient Outpatient Care? Your Next Step is CarePlex

CarePlex offers convenient, one-stop access to quality outpatient services, whether you need a simple blood test or a complete rehabilitation program. CarePlex’s expert healthcare professionals assess and treat injuries, design rehabilitation programs, develop wellness plans and provide education to keep community residents safe and healthy while at play or at work.

What’s more, CarePlex offers fitness programs, occupational health services, travel medicine, aquatic therapy, massage therapy and other vital services.

“Our treatment approach is a collaborative effort between the therapist and the physician,” says Robin McMonagle, PT, MA, Director of Physical Medicine and Rehab/ Occupational Health at PMMC. “We develop a treatment plan to meet the individual patient’s needs and goals, then implement it with one-on-one personal care and attention.”

Whatever your needs, CarePlex is there for you.

Need rehabilitation services? CarePlex provides a full range of outpatient rehabilitation services – including occupational, physical and hand therapies – for patients of all ages. “We see a variety of people who’ve had injuries or illnesses such as a stroke, a joint replacement, or an athletic or work-related injury,” says Ms. McMonagle. “We help those who have had surgery, broken bones or musculoskeletal injuries like a pulled muscle.”

After rehab, patients can transition to CarePlex’s fitness program. “People feel comfortable exercising in a familiar environment, with their therapist nearby if they have any questions,” adds Ms. McMonagle. “Clients of all ages, as elderly as 94, come here every day because it’s not intimidating like a big gym.”

Injured on the job? CarePlex’s Occupational Health Program, led by Medical Director Carl Burnett, DO, can get you back in the swing of things with comprehensive occupational medicine, rehabilitation and work recovery services. CarePlex also goes where you work, offering employers on-site services like ergonomic evaluations, medical screenings such as hearing and vision tests and health education.

Employers can also send job applicants to CarePlex for pre-employment medical testing, such as physicals and drug and alcohol screening.

Planning an overseas trip?
CarePlex’s Travel Medicine will help you stay healthy while you’re away from home.

Starting with a comprehensive pretrip evaluation, including a review of your medical history and itinerary, a specialist will administer the appropriate vaccines and provide health education based on your destinations. Travel Medicine can assist you with healthrelated entry requirements, based on the most recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization.

Looking for aquatic therapy?
CarePlex’s physical therapists administer aquatic therapy at the Pottstown YMCA, located at Adams and Jackson streets in Pottstown. Many rehabilitation patients benefit from the healing waters of aquatic physical therapy, a comprehensive therapeutic approach that uses exercise and other therapeutic interventions while in water. Aquatic exercise allows for improved tolerance of early rehabilitation intervention when the same activity would be difficult on land.

Aching for a massage?
CarePlex offers therapeutic massage, deep muscle massage, and chair massage both at the facility and on-site for corporate clients. Massage therapy has been shown to reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure, increase blood circulation, relax muscles, improve range of motion, and increase endorphins, according to the American Massage Therapy Association.

Need X-rays or blood work?
CarePlex offers comprehensive diagnostic services including X-rays and laboratory work, hearing tests and vision screenings.
