This year marks the 10th anniversary of Pottstown Memorial Regional Cancer Center (PMRCC) as a Fox Chase Cancer Center Partner. This valuable alliance with one of the most world-renowned comprehensive cancer centers greatly benefits local patients who previously had to travel hours for cancer treatment and services. Now, local residents have access right in their own community to the most advanced cancer treatments available.

PMRCC’s comprehensive cancer services are always centered on the patient. Medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, radiation therapists and board-certified nurses work together as a team to share their areas of expertise. Registered dietitians, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, home care nurses, a chaplain, cancer registrars, and, if necessary, hospice staff, add to the collaborative effort to coordinate each patient’s care.
“This collaboration, along with our partnership with Fox Chase Cancer Center, has enabled us to be accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons,” says Peggy Neese, RN, OCN, director of PMRCC. “Only one in four cancer programs at hospitals across the U.S. receives this special approval. It recognizes the quality of our comprehensive patient care and our commitment to provide our patients with access to all of the various medical specialists involved in diagnosing and treating cancer.
