Let’s face it, most people would rather not stay in a hospital for any length of time if they had a choice, but some treatments make round-the-clock hospital care necessary. Nurses who are efficient, skilled and pleasant can make all the difference in how quickly and comfortably a hospital patient recovers.
We are fortunate at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center (PMMC) to hear lots of positive feedback from our patients about our nursing staff. We take pride in our dedicated nursing and support staff and recognize not only their high level of expertise and professionalism, but also their genuine friendliness, compassion and respect for each patient and family.
Rakesh Baman, MD, Chairman of the Department of Medicine, has witnessed an exceptional quality of nursing care during his 11 years at PMMC. He is particularly impressed with the overall knowledge of the nursing staff.
“The nurses at PMMC are exposed to a wide variety of diseases and conditions and are able to care for patients with vast medical problems,” asserts Dr. Baman.
Nephrologist Geoffrey Teehan, MD, concurs. “Pottstown has a large amount of high-acuity patients. That is… patients who are very, very sick.
The quality of nursing at Pottstown is excellent. I see outstanding work by these nurses each and every day.”
Dr. Teehan credits the change in administration and hospital ownership with a “real commitment to nursing education and mentoring programs.”
Dr. Baman finds the staff a very caring group overall. “I would send my own family members to Pottstown Memorial,” he says.
Considering today’s significant nursing shortage, we at Pottstown know how fortunate we are to have them on staff and we know you’ll agree!
