Big changes are in store for the Boyertown Rehabilitation and Diagnostic Services Center, part of the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center (PMMC) healthcare system.

Located at 23 N. Walnut Street, the center already offers patients fast, convenient appointments for imaging tests, labwork, and physical and occupational therapy.
“Every imaging study offers a unique way to see inside the body and diagnose disease,” says Paula Lenane, Director of Imaging at PMMC.
“We’ll be expanding the kinds of tests we perform at the center and providing them in a comfortable, relaxed environment.”
Right now, the center offers X- ray, mammography, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). We plan to add the following services:
We’ll also be replacing our open MRI scanner with a closed MRI unit that will have a stronger magnet to help produce clear images of even the smallest abnormalities. Open MRI scanning -– which is useful for patients who are claustrophobic or obese, or who have metal implants – will still be available at the Pottstown Scanning and Treatment Center.
Before we bring in the new equip- ment, we’ll be renovating the building itself. The entire upgrade is expected to be complete by April 2008.
“We want to assure patients that the center will remain open, and there will be minimal disruptions to services during the renovations,” says Ms. Lenane.
