When faced with a disorder or injury to the brain, spinal cord or nerves, you need a specialist with both a steady hand and a tranquil bedside manner.

Both can be found in Sagi M. Kuznits, MD, a board-certified neurosurgeon who recently joined the staff of Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
“My goal is to provide patients with a good understanding of their neurological condition and treatment options, both surgical and nonsurgical, and to pro- vide excellent surgical and post-surgical care,” says Dr. Kuznits. “I try to do that by being easily accessible, attentive and reassuring. Also, having a calm demeanor certainly helps patients feel at ease.”
Dr. Kuznits performs surgeries at PMMC that address cranial, spinal and peripheral nerve pathologies. These include cranial surgeries to remove brain tumors and blood clots; spinal surgeries in the neck and back to remove compression on the spinal cord and nerves commonly caused by herniated discs and arthritic joints; and peripheral nerve surgery, the most common of which is carpal tunnel release. Dr. Kuznits also has a special interest in newer spine technologies and minimally invasive techniques that result in less post- operative pain and quicker recovery.
Raised in suburban Philadelphia, the all-star soccer player from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990, and his medical degree from Temple University in 1994, then completed his internship and residency at Northwestern University in 2000. Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Kuznits has been practicing general neurosurgery in the area for more than seven years, and has recently established a private practice in Royersford.
