Creamy White Chili

Serve this heart healthy, white chili at your next Winter buffet. This turkey and white bean dish is a healthier, low fat twist on traditional beef and bean chili that is high in fat.

This healthy recipe is great for a rainy day. With less than 200 calories per serving, be generous with your servings!

This recipe is heart healthy. This recipe is diabetes friendly.

Yield: 8 servings

  • 1 pound boneless skinless turkey breast, cut into ˝ inch cubes
  • 1 medium onion cubed
  • 1 ˝ tsp garlic powder
  • Cooking spray
  • 2 (15 ˝ ounce) cans great northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can low sodium chicken broth
  • 8 oz water
  • 2 large chili peppers, deseeded and chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ˝ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup fat free sour cream
  • ˝ cup 2% milk
  • In a large pot, sauté turkey, onion, peppers and garlic powder in cooking spray until turkey is cooked through.

    Add beans, broth, water and seasonings to pot. Bring to a boil and continue to simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.

    Remove from heat and mix in sour cream and milk. Serve immediately.
