Chocolate Peanut Butter Breakfast Smoothie

If your kids like peanut butter cups, they will love this yummy chocolate and peanut butter breakfast smoothie, and so will you. Keep frozen bananas on hand to whip up this quick breakfast treat.

This breakfast smoothie has protein provided by skim milk or soy milk, potassium provided by the banana and heart healthy monounsaturated fats provided by the peanut butter. All of this mixed up in less than five minutes.

This recipe is heart healthy. This recipe is diabetes friendly.

Yield: 2 servings

  • 1 cup skim milk (or light vanilla soy milk)
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp peanut butter
  • 1 medium sized banana
  • Place all ingredients into blender and mix until smooth. Serve on ice, if desired.
