Assisted Living Residents Enjoy Independence

Meet our residents and discover why assisted living is another term for independence at St. Mary’s Assisted Living of Morris Hall.

For Toni Christian, the best thing about living at St. Mary’s is being able to attend daily Mass. For Ursula Walzak, it would be the home-cooked meals... that she doesn’t have to cook!

“I hate to cook!” she laughs. “But I love to walk, and the campus here is great for walking.”

Both women have discovered that at St. Mary’s, assisted living is another term for independence. The staff is attentive to their needs so they have more time to enjoy life.

“If my TV is broken, I just call the nurse. She’ll make sure someone fixes it right away. I really appreciate not having to worry about these things,” Ursula explains.

At age 83, Ursula is affectionately called the “baby” of the group. She came to St. Mary’s for the warm and caring environment. She stays active by participating in a variety of activities. At age 90, Toni still has a feisty smile and a cheery outlook.

“I am so glad I can continue my normal routine here, like going to Mass. I am even able to lead the rosary,” she smiles. “It’s wonderful that Morris Hall has its own chaplain.”
