The Legacy Society Honors Margaret Abel

True philanthropist leaves lasting contribution

Margaret Abel dedicated her life to teaching others and leading by example. She was passionate about her career as an educator and active in many professional associations. She was also a true philanthropist who was generous with her time, her money and her heart.

When Ms. Abel passed away this past February, she left a portion of her estate to The Foundation of Morris Hall/ St. Lawrence, Inc. “Her mother-in-law had been a resident at Morris Hall,” explains her brother, William Fritz. “Margaret became very involved with her mother-in-law’s care and spent many hours with her at Morris Hall.”

During that time, she formed a special relationship with the people at Morris Hall. Even after her mother-in-law passed away, Ms. Abel remained close to the people she met at Morris Hall.

“She liked what she saw at Morris Hall and wanted to make a lasting contribution,” Mr. Fritz continues.

She was able to do that by becoming a member of the Legacy Society, which honors individuals who have remembered Morris Hall and St. Lawrence in their wills and estate plans.

“My sister was a true role model for future generations,” beams Mr. Fritz.
