Research Studies at Scripps

Here is a list of research studies that are currently being done at Scripps

 

Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy (TACT): This nationwide study, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, will assess the effectiveness of chelation therapy, which uses infusions and vitamins to remove toxins, wastes, and plaque from the arteries to treat cardiovascular disease.

Effectiveness of Red Yeast Rice Therapy: Red yeast rice has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years to reduce cholesterol levels. This study will examine the effects of this natural extract in patients who cannot tolerate conventional cholesterol lowering medications.

Lifestyle Change Program participant outcome tracking: We are using detailed participant questionnaires to monitor the effects of our comprehensive Lifestyle Change Program, which includes nutrition, exercise and stress management classes.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program participant outcome tracking: We are monitoring the effects of this eight-week course, which includes yoga, guided imagery and meditation, with detailed questionnaires to assess participants’ overall mental and emotional health.
